Ogham Round Torc Bangle (Ladies)

The ladies oval torc bangle is made in solid sterling silver and features an Ogham message engraved across the top surface. It is curved inside and out with a cross-section of 5.8mm wide and 2.9mm deep. The torc ends are curved to make it easier to slide on to the wrist.

The bangle is available in four wrist sizes: Ex Small, Small, Medium and Large. To help you judge the correct fit for you, the wrist circumference is listed with each size. The gap in each torc bangle can be squeezed narrower or widened slightly to adjust the fit more accurately to your wrist.

Ogham (pronounced ‘oh-am’) is an ancient method of writing, believed to have originated in Ireland within the 1st century BC. The earliest Ogham inscriptions still in existence were carved in stone and date from the 4th century. Ogham is also believed to have been widely used on wood for record-keeping or relaying short messages. Inscriptions carved in wood were easily made and very portable. They were sometimes cryptic in nature and believed by some to have magical properties.
