Description
18ct yellow gold oak leaf brooch from the Faller Oakleaf jewellery collection. The name ‘Derry’ originally meant “Oak Wood of Colmcille” so oak leaves symbolise Derry/ Londonderry and St. Columba, the Patron Saint of Derry. This solid gold brooch is made with an 18ct yellow gold hinged pin and safety catch. It is packaged in its branded Faller box which also contains our Oakleaf descriptive leaflet. Inscribed on the back of the brooch:
Derry – Oak Wood of Colmcille
“the angels of God sang in the glades of Doire and every leaf held its angel”
St. Columba (521 – 597 AD)
