  • Description

This small fully three-dimensional Irish harp pendant is made in solid 18ct yellow gold. It can be purchased with a fine 18ct yellow gold trace chain in various lengths. It can also be purchased without the chain and worn as a charm. Designed and made by Faller, it is packaged in our green Faller pendant box.

The design of this harp is based on the Brian Boru harp, (or the O’Neill Harp) which is on display in the Long Room of Trinity College in Dublin. It is the oldest surviving harp in Ireland and dates from the 14th or 15th century. The Irish Free State (6 December 1922 – 28 December 1937) used the Trinity harp on their official seal. Today the harp emblem appears on naval flags and coinage, on courthouses, post offices and Irish embassies. So long a symbol and icon for Ireland, the Gaelic harp will continue to resonate with meaning for Irish people at home or abroad.
