Seventh Wedding Anniversary

7th Anniversary Gift: Yellow Sapphire or Onyx

The traditional gifts for a seventh anniversary are copper and wool. Copper is durable and represents love and protection and wool is symbolic of warmth and comfort. Seven is one of the most significant numbers in religion, mythology, superstition, and philosophy. It is believed to be lucky so seven years of marriage is a perfect time to celebrate your journey as a couple.

Onyx

Onyx, along with agate and jasper, is a variety of chalcedony. It is often carved and is most popular in men’s jewellery, particularly signet rings and stone set cufflinks. It is durable and practical for everyday wear. According to ancient lore, Ancient Greeks put it in amulets to protect sailors from drowning; a thirteenth-century writer claimed it bestowed health, success in lawsuits, and safe travels. In the 1700s it was thought to keep ghosts at bay. Faller will be making the most of these popular gems in our new collection of stone set signet rings which we hope to launch by the end of this year.
