Sapphire has traditionally symbolized nobility, truth, sincerity and faithfulness. To have been married for 45 years, you and your spouse obviously embody these traits. Your marriage is clearly strong, and the sapphire like ruby is the hardest of all the gemstones after diamond. While most associate sapphire with blue it actually occurs in a wide range of colours, including pink, purple, orange, yellow, green, and brown. (Sapphire is every colour of the mineral corundum except for red, which is ruby.) Blue is the symbolic colour of the Sapphire Jubilee.
